Gaj-Kesari Yog

Let us understand the meaning of ‘Yog’ first. When a person is born with a combination of planets which are favorable for him/her, these are called ‘Yog’. Many gets confuse whether Yog has positive or negative influence. A Yog is a favorable combination of planets. The unfavorable combinations are called ‘Arishtas’.

Gaj-Kesari Yog is one such favorable Yog which results in achieving success in most fields by a person. The person is likely to achieve more knowledge, vision, fame and power. Many people can have this yog on their Kundli because this yog is formed four times every month.

Gaj-Kesari Yog is formed when Moon and planet Jupiter forms a square position. This happens when Jupiter is placed in 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th position from the moon. As this yog is formed 4 times in a month, their can be a lot of people born with this yog. Thus its positive effects will not be same for all, as there planet combination cannot be alike.

It depends on how much powerful the yog is on a person. For some people have Gaj-Kesari yog, but their Jupiter or Moon is placed in either of 3rd, 6th, 8th or 12th house, the positives of the yog gets reduced. Note that positive effects may reduce but does not get vanished completely since the required combination of Jupiter and Moon is present.

As per ancient Astrological books, Jupiter is planet which enhances knowledge and Moon is said to be the planet of Imagination and Mind. When these two combines in a favorable yog, it results in enhancement of knowledge, mind power and vision. It makes a person practical in approach. He is likely to get success in many fields and can achieve power and fame.

One person of Gaj-Kesari yog may be more successful in comparision to another person of the same yog. This happens because the former has born with a stronger Gaj-kesari yog than the latter.
A strong Gaj-Kesari Yog is formed considering the following:
Firstly, Jupiter and Moon should not be the owner of 3rd, 6th, 8th of 12th house.
Secondly, Jupiter and Moon must not be influenced by other planets like Mars, Saturn and nodes of Moon.
Thirdly, If the position of Moon and Jupiter are forming conjunctions with each other, it is the strongest Yog.
The Second strongest Yog is formed when Jupiter and Moon are placed in opposite of each other.
Lastly, Note that whether Jupiter and Moon are strong in ‘Shasbala’. Shasbala is a combination of 6 types of strength.

When does Gaj-Kesari Yog shows its effects in one’s life?

The time when either a Major period of Jupiter or a Major period of Moon runs in one’s life, Gaj-Kesari yog can create favourable circumstances to its full extent. Even when either a Minor period of Moon or a Minor period of Jupiter runs, but still supports a major period of it, this Yog effects to a good extent.

So, if one is fortunate to born in Gaj-Kesari Yog, he is more likely to achieve knowledge, practical vision, leadership qualities, fame and success in every sphere of life.

Panch Mahapurush Yog

Introduction: What is Panch Mahapurush Yog?
One of the most important yogas in Vedic Astrology is the Panch Mahapurush Yog. The Sanskrit word “Yoga” originates from the root word “yuj”, the meaning of which is to join, and in Vedic astrology, this means joining or coming together of two or more grahas in a particular manner. In Panch Mahapurush Yog, a personality of any great man is created in his astrological chart because of the influence of the different types of characteristics of five planets. This yoga gives a person wealth, prosperity, honor, glory, popularity and power.

How Panch Mahapurush Yog is formed?
It is a yoga in which the yoga positions depend on the planetary position of five planets (Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn) in a man’s birth chart.  The other four planets (Rahu, Ketu, Sun and Moon) are not included in this Yog. Characteristics of a certain planet are strongly given emphasis in each type of Panch Mahapurusha Yoga. This is formed in a horoscope when the five planets are in Kendra from Lagna or Moon. These 5 planets should be either in their own houses or in the house of their exaltation. It is said that a person with this yog has some strength and abilities which are different from those of a normal person. It is said that these yogas exert a strong influence that raises the person above the level of the ordinary. These five planets (Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn) give rise to five different yogas, respectively, as given below:
Ruchaka yoga
Bhadra yoga
Hamsa yoga
Malavya yoga
Sasa yoga

Panch Mahapurush Yog in more detail

Ruchaka yoga: This Yog is formed when Mars is placed in its own or exalted house or in Kendra houses (1, 4, 7, 10) from Lagna or Moon. A person with Ruchaka yoga has a strong physique like that of a warrior. He is known for his valor and intelligence. He is disciplined, traditional, and a conqueror who always abides by customs and laws. He will get good health, wealth, a higher position in defense or police
Bhadra yoga: This yoga is formed when Mercury is placed in its own or exalted house in a Kendra houses (1, 4, 7, 10) from Lagna or Moon . A person with bhadra yog is highly intelligent, learned with great communication skill. He can be a rich and successful businessman. As the name suggests, the native to this yog is also a gentleman, a kind-hearted and helpful person.
Hamsa Yoga: This is formed when Jupiter is placed in its own or exalted house or in Kendra houses (1, 4, 7, 10) from Lagna or Moon. A person with Hamsa yog is handsome, wealthy, religious, righteous in his behavior and has a long life.
Malavya Yoga: Malavya yoga is formed when Venus is in its own or exalted house or in Kendra houses (1, 4, 7, 10) from Lagna or Moon. The person with Malavya Yog is well built, handsome, wealthy, happy and has a long life. He also gets a loving and supportive partner.
Sasa Yoga: This yoga is formed when Saturn is placed in its own or exalted house or in Kendra houses (1, 4, 7, 10) from Lagna or Moon. A person born in this yog is healthy, wealthy, famous, has many servants and can be a great leader or ruler.

When Panch Mahapurush Yog Becomes Weak?
If the five planets Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus or Saturn are placed in either 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th house from Lagna or in their own house or exalted houses, Panch Mahapurush Yoga is formed. But the mentioned yoga gets weak under the following conditions:
If sun joins any of the 5 planets.
If weak Moon joins the planet making Raj Yoga
If any debilitated planet joins any of the 5 planets.
If a planet is positioned with any of the 5 planets in inimical or harmful sign
Being owner of 6th, 8th and 12th house, Panch Mahapurush Yoga won’t produce good effect.

How Shadbala Reduces the Strength of this Panch Mahapurush Yog?
There is a great system for mathematically calculating the strength of a planet in Vedic astrology. This is known as the Sixfold Strength System or shadbala. You should study the shadbala score to get the strength of the aligning planet and this can be utilized to judge the potential strength or weakness of the alignment itself. You can also use a vedic astrology software for this. Statistically, these yogs can appear in a lot of birth charts, but that does not mean that the effects would show up everywhere. In case of Panch Mahapurusha Yoga, the planet should both be close to its point of exaltation and present in the sign of exaltation. It should also not be powerless due to shadbala.
